This exclusive 3 day workshop is for anyone looking to advance their portrait drawing skills through studying the head as a 3-Dimensional form. Focussing on the planes of the head, we will draw from a plaster cast of a classical sculpture. With this method we can precisely control viewpoint and lighting to allow for a long period of study from a single position.

First, learn to identify the large planes of the head and neck, then study the individual features and how they relate to each other and the head itself.

Using either charcoal or graphite we will make several drawings from the same cast.

This workshop will be held in my own studio, with a maximum of 4 participants it offers the opportunity for an intensive study period as part of a small group with lots of individual advice and guidance as you progress.
